I thought that even though it wasn't planing-windy it would be windy enough to work on the gecko, so I loaded my 5.7 and went to cole park. Guess what, it's planing conditions for 5.2, so on with business as usual.

I'm ready to claim first NO HANDED JUMP. Meaning the launch, air, and landing with no hands on the boom. Right now we're measuring air in inches, and single digits at that, and I'm often getting some spinout on landing, but you've got to start somewhere. It's added enough entertainment value on the straightaways that I will work to polish this. Also have been experimenting with a superman jump (in that case being okay to hold on for takeoff and landing as long as you shoot both hands out while in the air) but the arm motions are throwing off my balance so I'm not doing it with nearly as much gusto as is warranted.
What else....made first stabs at aerial duck jibe but I'm bailing b/c the sail gets so loaded up it seems a good way to smash it through the board. I decided I really do want to try but will think ahead and add that extra foam padding sleeve to the mast base first. I also find it's similar in a way to rubbing your stomach while patting your head....doable, but it will take some thought and getting used to initiating two seemingly inconguous motions at once. Still lovin all this wind and the ample opportunities it's providing to get creative.
