Mark's WindLog for Wednesday July 23, 2008

32nd session in 2008
Sailed at Hatchery
Wind from the W (mph)
        Average: 38
Rated a 9 of 10

Board: RRD FSW 105
Sail: 4.0 Maui Sails Legend

I woke up to big wind. Too strong to sail for most, the river had only a handful of sails on the water. We watched the pros deal with the conditions. Tyson Poor made an unbelievable high wind shove-it and slid 25 feet downwind before the fin caught and he sailed away. Front row seating, with the photographers. By the afternoon, I was wondering if we would sail at all. I went into town to get a smaller board. Again inspired by Bill, I rigged a 4.0 and the 105, and had a great time. The wind eventually wound down, but it was a great time. I saw Brian's last back loop and vulcan attempts, and they were really good. Lots of air, he just needs to complete them. The level of sailing is so high here. Wind every day so far...
