I get a call that my friend Brett is back from becoming a band teacher in Houston, and not only is he back but he's behind me on Ocean and staying a couple streets away from me and happens to be psyched to go windsurfing RIGHT THIS MINUTE. So we make plans to go to Cole Park, well, in 15 minutes actually. Once arriving at cole park we take one look at the water and make other plans not to fall in. I mean, it's NASTY. Plus the shore is littered with crap...I mean, picture all the stuff that would not sell at a Corpus yard sale, back over it with your car a few times, soak it in sewer water, leave it in the sun for several days, multiply by 8,000, and that pretty much describes the shores of Cole Park right now. There are also several lobster traps right off the beach. I can only hope that those are for fun/entertainment purposes only  and that no one intends those crustaceans for human or animal consumption. I also saw a pretty manta ray swimming out there and felt bad for the poor thing. Yuck. I held up my part of the not falling in bargain til near the end. tried some JJs that went decently. Then I got greedy. Mid turn on the last run I decided I'd make it a duck jibe. and that was going well, so mid duck I decided I'd make it a monkey duck. Smack, i get flattened under the sail with nasty brown water all over me. I was NOT happy. I immediately exited, but even out of the water I just smelled BAD. I was home and in the shower within 20 min, so I think no permanent harm done.
