Early in the day was lighter, and I rigged big, trying to make up for the sorry session yesterday. Was planning nonstop on the 5.0 and not too overpowered. A great time. The wind picked up and I went in for a rest and to add max downhaul and outhaul. When I went back in the water, it had clearly jacked up a notch. But I wanted to see if I could hold things down, and did a survival run out and back with plenty of tailwalking but no crashes. Some super swell convinced me to rig the 4.0 instead of packing it in. By the time I finished rerigging I had a great 20 minute session perfectly powered, which meant that things got a lot worse when the wind dropped a bit. I was already way downwind and couldn't get back to the launch. Eventually I had to walk back in the Oregon shallows and then shlog across the river to Dougs beach. That sucked. But my own fault for treading so far from the launch. Aside from that one of the best days of the year.
