The waves started out pretty small (but still steep and fun), then ramped up very quickly throughout the sesh and got even more fun. The current was very low, and great wind direction...which added up to all the rides you could handle. I actually had to focus on doing a lot of wave riding just to not get too far upwind. Conveniently, on my very last run in, the wind let up briefly during this cloud and it made the waves absolutely glassy. I've never sailed on that smooth a wave before but loved it. I didn't need the 5.7 but I didn't regret it either--I had my boom/extension all set up for it from yesterday, and it handles small, so it worked out great. I can't think of a better start to the week than a perfectly lined up sunrise session.
