I had a great time. Thanks to Brian, Laura, and Mike for the encouragement to finally sail oceanside again. The conditions were very forgiving for my return. I am a much better sailor now and I was ready. I sailed a bigger board and small sail combination which helped ease me back in. Initially, I made all my gybes on the outside, kept my balance heading out through the waves, and made most of my gybes on the inside. Then, I started to get tired. I had a few nice wave rides when I happen to just luck into the right place at the right time. Most of the time, I was just hanging out somewhere between two waves, trying to figure out where the wave pocket was. I had some opportunities for big air on the way out, but I was usually sailing cautious and not fully powered. I regret that now that I am home safe and warm reflecting on a great day. I cannot wait to go again.
