Finally the weekend forecasted 20-30mph winds came, and boy did they. Very gusty. I should have rigged down or stopped to add downhaul, but I was very wary it would not last. I did not want to waste a minute of it. I had a lot of fun today. The Naish FS is a creature I am still trying to figure out. We got to know each other much better today. It is very different than the Cross 117 (FSW). Shorter, stiffer, lighter, narrower but thicker tail. It is less comfortable and less forgiving. I missed the nose rocker in B&J mode today. The Naish footstraps and my feet do not like each other very much. I now have sores on the sides of my feet. Although less forgiving, it does pop out of the water and rotate easier, and if I ever get the board around, I suspect the flat nose rocker will be an asset. I was planing easier out of my gybes today and it was easy to control. I could get close to the shoreline, set the edge, and feel totally in control.

I saw Brian do a sick back loop attempt upwind of me and Laura was doing jump gybes on the other side of the lake. The kites seemed to disappear when the wind ramped up. It was a great afternoon.
