I struggled. I struggled to stay awake on the drive down. Then, I hit traffic before the bridge to PI. It took me 45 minutes to get to Whitecap. Then, I sailed. I struggled to plane, keep up with my friends, pull off a UW 360. I watched all the smaller folk plane all around me like a swarm of bees. Then, I watched Brian pull off a Vulcan, UW 360, DW360, etc. Mike was doing some fin first 360s along with his aerial moves. Laura was planing effortlessly as usual. I was ready to quit and take a nap in my car.

Then, the wind started to back off. I began to work on LWF, especially the UW 360. I pulled off 3 clean ones in about 50 attempts. I sailed as hard as I could, until the sun started to set.

The weather was great. Sunny and warm. Like how you wish summer could be. I wore boardshorts and a rashguard for the first time this year.

As bummed and discouraged as I was, in reality I was really lucky. It was a beautiful day and I was windsurfing with friends. The post-session pizza and beer tasted great. Damn Longhorns blew it from the the freethrow line just like the Spurs I saw Friday night. But, all that driving was worth it.
