Almost a carbon copy of yesterday...this is as good as it gets in the gulf!! I tried about 6 BLs but was not getting the full rotation i had been in past years. I think i forgot some technique over the winter (either that or just readapted it on port side), and i need to resume going in with more speed and looking over my shoulder rather than straight back over my head, which was stopping my rotation. Perfect ramps for it, though. I also had some pretty fun SB360s going down the inside waves. I made the first one, just barely salvaging the sail out of the whitewater. Missed the last few, but still got the full 360 motion and i just found myself finishing too far back on the board so i was stalling the motion and having the wave wash over and tumble my gear. That will be pretty easy to adapt. I want to start trying those on bigger waves. I also did some clew first stuff and practiced my inside hass tacks and heli tacks. Those actually have become easier than a regular tack to stabalize if there's a shorebreak. It was just me, Enes, and Olivier for a long time, and then later Chad showed up. It seemed like we were all trying to be agressive with our wave riding and jumps, in our own ways, which was fun to do together & watch. Only 1-2 surfers and 4 kiters, but the kiters there were crazy, 3 of them crashing repeatedly. I tried to steer clear, although one of them was making it hard.
