Sailed at Doug's Beach, WA
Wind from the W (mph)
Board: F2 Maui Project Wave 72 liter
Sail: Ezzy Wave 3.7
Big day... I should've been on a 3.3, seeing as Bill was on The Robbie Naish 4.0. Did a bunch of sheeting out and riding the fin unfortunately.
Worked on cheater Kono's on the massive swell. It's fairly gentle and easy getting to the backwinded switch stance position down the face of the swell where there's no wind, but man when you try to bring the rig back up you get smacked. That's the trick I guess...controlling the smack to allow you to get air for the exit.
Had one decent BL attempt during a lull that I guess wasn't high enough because when I looked over my shoulder while in this position...
...I saw that the tip of the rig was digging into the top of the swell. But it didn't seem to mess things up too much. Mostly it was too windy to try such things though.
Would've been a 10 if Mike had been there.
PSB&G: Budweiser @ Mark's Taqueria place
