Today was fraught with gear frustrations--first rigged the 3.7, but that was not nearly enough (although it LOOKED really windy while I was rigging, and some others were making it work on small stuff). So I came in and changed to 4.2, and really probably should have changed to 4.7 instead but oh well. Then I also noticed that my harness hook had split, and it was still seeming to hold my weight, but the hook was entirely separated and I didn't want to find out the hard way with a fall, sharp metal pieces, etc, so I luckily had a backup harness in the car and was able to change to that bar. Aside from the frustrations the conditions did get decently fun, and the wind picked up nicely for a bit in the end. I ended the day with more problems when I discovered that my professionally-repaired board is also cracking apart at the repair site, and when I push on the crack I can see water seeping out. So that may be part of the reason I'm struggling to plane compared to others on similar sized gear. I dont really have a game plan for that either....just ignore it for a while I guess and hope it is either so windy or so light that I'm always on either my big or small board and never need the middle one? That sounds feasible.

Post-sesh @ surf club was fun.
