Big wind on the sensors then finally rolled into town during a lull. Big wind shadow at Bob's plus sailors slogging in on small gear didn't make a good impression. Headed over to east point where the waves were rolling right in but the wind seemed swirley and not very strong. Saw some dude slog out on a 4.2 and then did OK once he hit the wind line. I only had until lunch to sail so decided to go big with a 5.0 (especially with the easterly). Turned out to be the wrong call--the wind picked up and though I was never backwinded or anything would have been much more comfortable on the 4.5. Flip side is I had no issues going upwind, especially out in the channel where it was a couples knots more. Some nice swell rolling in front of the boat dock. Tried to mimic some backside riding and imagine reversing that at PSC :-). Not much outside--unsure on why. Monday it has flipped WEST yet again and strong, though the clouds and coolness and general wind stinkiness have kept me at home. Tuesday snow level is supposed to drop to 5,000 so maybe my last day--we'll see.
