I have the best job in the world, with its awesomeness only increased by the epic bay session we had right from the beach at work. Office attire to hurricane swell in minutes! The bay was WAY high and the launch was tough due to the rocks being mostly submerged, the long-ish walk in chest high water, and the strong shore break. Traffic was stopping along Ocean Drive to watch me and Chip launch. Interestingly, after we finally walked our gear around and water started, most of the cars left. I guess it's more interesting watching someone floundering in the surf looking like there are pretty decent odds of disaster than watching someone up and riding, playing in the waves and having fun. In some of the waves along shore a chain of bottom turns was possible. I rigged in a torrential downpour that was welcome refreshment after all the sun. I couldn't help watching people at the traffic light as I made my inside jibes and thinking of how much more fun it is to play in the rain than drive through it.
