Day 1 ABK. Morning session on the 4.5, the rest of the day on the 3.7. First time on a 3.7 with this big board I think. Brendon gave me tips on my grubbies in the morning, but I'm not sure that I remember them now. It seems very long ago. He gave tips on the starboard spocks too, and I remember those. Almost made a bunch of those. The first starboard spock should happen here, very soon.

Afternoon, Andy lectured on what he called the clew-first grubby, since he thought it is one of the few remaining moves for when it's this windy. Later he revealed that its actually the same thing as a clew-first spock. Initially chicken on ducking the sail while going straight while in the straps in 3.7 conditions, I quickly grew a pair and did it. The aerial popping part that follows actually takes less cajones than the ducking. Andy said my first attempts looked pretty sick and loop-like because the nose wasn't touching the water. Eventually, by video time, I was able to settle these down, and there was clear progress being made. So fun to unexpectedly try and then make decent progess on a new aerial move! Oh yeah, strangely enough, I was trying these on starboard.

A super fantastic fun day no doubt. Exhausted.
