I can't seem to hit these fronts right, or maybe they are just weird lately. Last time I showed up early the wind was not up enough, and then on Friday I missed a cold front because it was 18 when I woke up so I thought it wouldn't happen...then later in the day it got to 23. I thought, well I know better now. I'm not going out there first thing. First thing it was blowing between 24-26, and I waited and got on the water at 9, which was the exact moment the wind decreased to 20 mph. I knew it was a bad sign when kiters could not make it back to where they started and were coming in to rig bigger, but I didn't drive all that way for nothing, and I had my brand new sail rigged. I had to try it.

This turned out to be an exact repeat of the Port A situation a few weeks ago--beach felt very windy but when you were out there it was not enough. Combine that with a man-o-war situation (most I have ever seen) and messy washing machine waves and it really was a waste of time. I had two looong runs, pinching the whole time just to maintain my position in the current. You couldn't see all the buried little man o wars on the beach and it was kind of funny walking because it was like bubble wrap underfoot--pop pop pop. There was this other light brown bubble stuff floating too.
