It was a last minute decision. I knew the forecast was only 15 to 20mph, and the iW readings were weak, but summer is just around the corner. Winds will really be bad then.

It was very nice weather, and nobody else on the water. No motorboat wake, no kites, and nobody planing before me! I brought my new 2014 Severne NCX 7.5. I sailed my freestyle gear first, but when I felt I was working too hard to plane, I busted out the freeride gear. It has been a very long time since I have sailed a freeride rig and fin. Wow, what power in your hands. Also, was weird to float on top of the water in the lulls. I prefer my freestyle gear, but enjoyed the easy planing and power. I loved, I mean loved having my MS carbon wave boom back. I will never forget it again. I really had fun today.
