Unexpected morning wave sesh. Lots of surfers but I was the only one to WS. Good direction and after 2 runs I made it just out past the jetty in the spot I like, then just repeated out-and-back runs with wave rides at each end and sometimes in the middle. A few non planing moments but most of the time I was fully powered. Saw a turtle, probably my second biggest ever. At first I thought it was debris floating because of its size, and we passed within a foot of one another, very chill. The seaweed has mostly dissipated other than in the little area very close to the jetty where the surfers go, and right there the water was completely brown with chopped up seaweed--of course one of my two falls was there. Everywhere else nice and blue.
