Fun to practice some LWF and I focused on things I'm very solid at on one side, but only doing them on my weak side. I was pleased to pretty easily get the clew-first tack, SB360, and upwind 360 on my bad side on the first try, plus a lot of more minor skills. Not always pretty but I was sticking on the board.
I made a major breakthrough in trying to point high while backwind sailing. I forget technically what I did but I remember the motion, I was driving the board with my front foot and putting pressure in the area of the mast base, with my ankle actually touching the mast base. But of course still keeping weight on the tail to keep pointing. I need to try this more to figure it out better. It felt so good and effective and it's something I've never felt very strong at before.
Just me and a visitor from Dallas on the water, and we got to talking briefly in passing, and I noticed he had bought Jake's old board - the very elderly guy who had the unfortunate motor home accident. He had bought it on consignment years ago from Cline St. Someone had tried to rub off the name but I could see it very faintly and recognized the writing instantly.
