Fifth day out of the boot, first day back on the water. I saw my doctor yesterday who told me the good news that I will likely not need surgery. No impact sports (running) for 2 months. I asked about flat water SUP and he said that's fine. SO...I went out to the lake today with the SUP and a sail just in case. I have not been to the lake since the beginning of May. Sadly, the lake level is down again. I had to schlep the board about 50 yards to get to the water's edge. I paddled for about 10 minutes. I did not fall, but the motorboat wake was terrible. I had to kneel it at one point on my way in because I was worried about re-injuring my foot. There was a tiny bit of breeze. Since the paddling did not go so well, I decided to try to sail before heading back home. I definitely enjoyed that more, but transitions made the foot feel sketchy, and it was no fun being out there when the wind completely shut off at times. I did not fall, made it back, and called it a day. Successful day, but a long way away from the real deal.
