We got woken up by the windows shaking! This was a weird front in that the wind never dropped. It went from solid 20s from the south to clocking around while only ramping up. It gusted up to 65 overnight and I drove to the beach seeing trash cans all over, a capsized port a potty, and the lifeguard tower on its side. Matt and I waited out lightning for the first hour. (Someone else didn't care and launched from further down the pier and sailed throughout the lightning storm.) I rigged my 4.7 in a prolonged lull of low 20s wind. Then the wind came up to the low 30s and stayed that way the whole time I sailed. Gusting into the 40s. I missed half of my outside jibes due to being overpowered. I still got some good wave rides. But my arms were about to fall off by the end. It was great seeing Vanessa and Chris. Others were still showing up as I was leaving, but it clocked side off. I really need to get my 3.7 back into the car and never take it out.
