First cold front of the year!!!!! My first wave ride was so long. I missed this so much. I sailed with a bad eye infection that I'm not supposed to get wet, so I wore goggles and really could not see much at all. No contacts, no glasses, looking through non-prescription swim goggles that weren't that clear to begin with and fogged up on top of brought my back to college sailing when our coach would have us do blindfolded drills so we learned to control the boat by feel. I feel enough in touch with windsurfing that I don't need to much vision to do it, except that I really could not pick out the sets or choose where to jibe very effectively. But I could see enough to avoid the only other two on the water (Barry and Gordon), so I just did my best and enjoyed the bathwater. The water was literally steaming. Tons of ship traffic, and the ships looked surreal coming through the steam. Later the wind clocked offshore and the three of us came off the water and had a tea party in Gordon's heated van while watching Matt, who showed up and rocked the offshore wind on his kite. Such long, awesome rides. Happy happy day.
