This was my best session at Port Aransas in recent years. Tons of turns on big, fun waves that kept cleaning up more as the session went on. I love sailing my 65L board because it's so responsive. The weather was 47 degrees and rainy. A few times I had to close my upwind eye because the rain was hitting so hard it was moving my contact lens out of place. My hands kept turning white and numb because I didn't take the weather seriously enough and I wore my lighter weight wetsuit. Luckily the water was 67, and a few times I purposely fell and floated for a few minutes on the outside until the feeling came back. I could have repeated that cycle for a long time because the waves were amazing and I had plenty of energy. But after an hour and change the wind shut off. I changed in Gordon's nice warm van, and the whole group went to pizza buffet. Perfect 10 day! Would have been an 11 if Truckers Brian and Laura were there.

Side note - I have sailed a personal record 15 north wind wave days this winter, even despite sitting out a month of the season. This is thanks to a combo of good weather and that I've been able to use vacation time here and there to fit in some midweek sessions. Will we get any more fronts before it ends? I hope so.
