I have been waiting to sail the 84 Fatboy this time with the 90cm mast at Lake Travis, and finally did today. The only downside was it was super gusy and I wore booties. I think a solidly sunk-in front foot in the strap is key for control in gusty conditions. My confidnce was not as high as my last session on the 84. I am still not sure what is the best way to bleed off a strong gust on the foil. Head up, sheet out? What I concluded this afternoon, since I was afraid to fully sink my feet in the front strap, was unhook. I had plenty of long good runs across the lake, but it was scary to deal with all of the motor boats crossing in front. I have more control on the windsurf board.
