For the mediocre conditions we got, it was technically not worth 7 hours of driving, but for the adventure and finally getting to try this place for the first time, it was. I sailed with Olivier, Phil, and Kelsey (not sure the spelling). We got there and I decided I was rigging 5.2. The guys immediately said they were rigging in the mid 4s, and I got advised that 5.2 was going to be too big. So I rigged 4.6. We all slogged for half the session and I regretted not listening to my gut...yet I couldn't get my brain around rigging bigger than an instructor and a pro who both know their stuff and are bigger than me. Oh well. It made things more of workout, which I really need. Sailed with dolphins sometimes. Saw SpaceX. We anticipated the high tide and left 2.5 hours ahead of it, but it was already coming up and resulted in driving through waves on the way out. Oops. My Subaru did awesome and I rewarded it with a luxurious bath. I could have done without the white knuckle departure, though.

Recording these names in case I ever go back, because I liked these two places: Antojitos Freddy (tacos on the way to the beach) and B&C car wash in San Benito - hand car wash for $6 and the soap smells like almond - best car wash ever.
