Mixed emotions. Amazing session, but I pushed too hard at the end and hurt my foot.

So the good...the conditions were oozing fun. It was actually quite hard to ride waves as the wind was a bit onshore but it was cool to be fully powered off the beach and jumping was all time. I did one stalled forward that felt incredible. I was hanging at the apex for what felt like an age before whipping it round for a bone dry landing. Sick. Also landed a wet push loop.

The bad...I got tired. At least 3 times I thought "I need to stop, I'm exhausted." Then I saw Mark B almost land a sweet back loop and just as a big outside wave popped out of nowhere. I hit it fully committed, went super duper high and came back down really steep for what I thought was going to be a perfect back loop. As the nose hit my front foot moved deeper in the strap and there was a weird sensation, like my big toe was being pulled sideways. Imagine someone grabbing your big toe with one hand and your little toes with the other and pulling them apart. It felt like that!! I sailed back in pretty much one footed.

Bob gave me some aspirin, and then a little later he popped by with Ryan, a Bay regular and it turns out he is a spine doctor. He called broken metatarsal and took me to his practice for x-rays. No broken bones. He then got a couple of phone consults and a referral to one of Houston's best. The consults bounced around possible lisfranc fracture, will see. It hurts. I can't walk on it. Hopefully I can get it looked at soon. Bob and Ryan were both super helpful. Windsurfer's are a really cool bunch.
